Most production companies separate the creative from the delivery. VSS doesn't. When our designers make a decision about a show, they're working from the knowledge of what it actually takes to make that decision real. In an arena, on a touring rig, in a cultural space.
There's a version of creative direction that happens at a distance from the work. The concept gets handed to a production company and something gets made. What comes back rarely matches what was intended. VSS was built the other way around. The creative thinking comes from people who understand rigging, media servers, pixel mapping, and what a room feels like at 12,000 capacity. You can feel that in the work.
